A solution to soil erosion

A special measure to cope with soil erosion is to increase vegetation cover in China. Vegetation is the first barrier to protect land from outside. Take Loess Plateau as an example, a main reason for its soil erosion is the lack of vegetation that leads to a serious loss of surfaced soil and water. Compared with bare land, it is more effective to plant more trees and vegetation, which can plays a significant role in reducing scour strength of rains and erosion of a wide variety of chemical meterials from rains. At the same time, vegetation plays a part in absorption and retention of water, which can improve water content of soil and prevent soil erosion.
